DO MORE Placements - Global Finance Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Cape Town's Central Business District (CBD). This hybrid role combines complex reconciliations, financial analysis, and data entry, requiring a strong analytical mind and excellent number skills.

About the Role

This international logistics company is one of the largest in its niche and offers a competitive salary package of R55-60k per month. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for accounts receivable, including preparing and distributing client invoices, updating client statements, and following up on outstanding payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts receivable - prepare and distribute client invoices, update clients' Statement of Accounts (SoAs), follow up with clients about outstanding payments
  • Post client invoices in the accounting software
  • Post bank statements and perform a bank reconciliation
  • Verify correctness of vendor invoices via an established reconciliation process
  • Post supplier invoices
  • Reconcile and post Senior Management expenses
  • Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements
  • Assist with financial analysis of various projects or initiatives
  • Contribute to improving the existing accounting processes
  • Build cross-functional relationships across the company
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed
Requirements
  • University degree (Accounting, Business, Economics)
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • International Finance experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel)
  • Practical knowledge of any other analytical tools is an advantage
  • Practical knowledge of working with an accounting software pref QUICKBOOKS ONLINE or XERO
  • Practical and logical approach to resolving business problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Professional, proactive, open to learning, 'can do' attitude
