Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Junior Millwright to join our technical department in the maintenance team. This role offers exposure to various machinery and processes, with a focus on developing and implementing maintenance plans across our facilities.

Requirements
  • A National Senior Certificate (Matric/Grade 12) is required.
  • A N2 Mechanical or Electrical qualification is necessary.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in the food industry are preferred.
  • A Millwright red seal is a prerequisite for this role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in automation can be beneficial.
  • Extensive knowledge of Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strong organizational skills is essential.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and relevant software, are necessary.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and exceptional written and verbal communication skills in Afrikaans and English are required.
  • The ideal candidate should be a honest and trustworthy individual.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure reliable maintenance of all technical aspects within the facilities.
  • Maintain machines according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Test, install, relocate, and connect machines across facilities.
  • Provide assistance with service requirements.
  • Flexibility for overtime work may be required as operational demands necessitate.
  • Contribute to reducing electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Deliver high-quality work consistently.
  • Show willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Report directly to the Technical Assistant Manager.
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of colleagues.
