Job Description

As a Senior Programme Director at HR Genie, you will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and delivery of our organisation's programmes. This includes developing and managing the programme portfolio, ensuring that programmes are aligned with our strategic goals, and overseeing the work of programme managers and other staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our organisational strategy.
  • Identify, develop, and implement innovative national campaigns and projects aligned to our strategy.
  • Lead and develop the Programmes Team, ensuring their understanding and focus on our national programmatic strategy.
  • Build and manage external partnerships in South Africa and regionally relevant to our programmes.
  • Develop content, positions, and key messages for communications, fundraising, and educational purposes.
  • Plan, implement, control, and report on the programmatic budget and expenses.
Requirements

To be successful as a Senior Programme Director, you will need:

Key Skills:
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Sound and up-to-date knowledge of the South African legal framework as it pertains to animal welfare.
Qualifications:
  • Several years of relevant experience in leadership and management of programmes and campaigns in an NGO environment.
  • Planning, organisation, time management, and coordination.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and native/national language.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • A willingness to travel nationally and hold a valid driver's license.
  • A great affinity for animal welfare.
