Risk Control Specialist

About the Role

This position is responsible for monitoring all business activities related to fleet and risk management. The successful candidate will have experience in risk control or a similar field and be able to work shifts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to multi-task, address and resolve operational issues using deductive logic and reasoning. They must also be able to handle and respond to incidents and operational situations in a professional and technically proficient manner.

The Senior Risk Controller will be responsible for supervising day-to-day operations of the Risk and Operational Control Room, ensuring that approved systems are utilized and incidents are processed quickly, accurately, and timeously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor individual performance ensuring high level of performance
  • Interacting between customers to ensure smooth delivery
  • Ensuring that Standard Operation Procedures affecting the operational and risk environment are adhered to
  • Driver, Incident & Risk reporting on dashboards to senior management and directors
  • Assisting with counselling and discipline of controllers
  • Assisting senior management and directors with any special requests
  • Managing and taking accountability for Risk related incidents such as Hijackings, Accidents, Breakdowns in High-Risk areas, Route Violations and Critical Alerts
  • Ensure that all incidents are escalated to senior management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 – Matric
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a risk controller or similar role
  • Achievement Orientation and staff motivation
  • Able to work shifts
  • Ability to diagnose problems, effect corrective and preventative measures
  • Ability to issue clear and concise instructions and ensure that they are followed correctly
  • Analytical thinking & attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
