Payroll Administrator

Overview:

Rory Mackie & Associates is seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to join their team. The primary objective of this role is to collect and review timekeeping data, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate capture and processing of payroll-related information
  • Effective management of payroll-related processes and procedures
  • Ensuring the accuracy of earnings and deductions
  • Ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time
  • Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll-related matters
  • Manage payroll-related queries and issues
  • Managing electronic timekeeping systems and manually collecting and reviewing data
  • Calculating payable hours, including overtime and night shift allowances
  • Processing all leave forms for production staff, liaising with department heads as needed
  • Maintaining accurate employee records
  • Coordinating with departments to ensure correct employee data
  • Accurate processing of new and temporary employees, transfers, promotions, terminations, garnishees, overtime, bonuses payable, and other payroll-related services
  • Performing monthly payroll processes, including updating reports and reconciliations
  • Completing, verifying, and processing benefits forms and documentation
  • Accurate capturing and processing of employee information
  • Accurate and timely submission of payroll reconciliations, queries, and reports to the Senior Payroll Administrator
  • Providing guidance on company policies and procedures as needed
  • Assisting with preparations for audits
  • Ensuring the ERS Biometrics System operates smoothly and liaising with ERS to address any issues
  • Maintaining system software and ERS system maintenance
  • Processing pension fund exit forms and Death in Service paperwork, liaising with family members as needed
  • Monitoring and ordering stationery for all departments

Requirements:

  • Matric or Grade 12
  • 3+ years' experience in payroll administration
  • Understanding of payroll software and processes
  • Knowledge of SAGE software is advantageous
  • Factory experience is preferred
