About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Manager to join our team at BDO South Africa. As a key member of our Compliance Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization maintains the highest standards of regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring effective compliance processes, as well as providing guidance and support to our staff on ethics, independence and conflicts of interest policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design and implementation of compliance projects and initiatives, including policy development and process improvement.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to staff on ethics, independence and conflicts of interest policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry partners.
  • Identify and assess risks related to quality objectives and design controls to mitigate any identified risks.
  • Monitor and report on compliance to policies and procedures, providing input into related risks.
  • Manage a team of compliance practitioners responsible for certain steps in the client acceptance and independence processes.
  • Prepare reporting for governance bodies and committees.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A qualification in accounting, finance, business, external or internal audit (CA(SA) or CIA would be advantageous).
  • Proven experience in a risk, ethics, conflicts or independence role within an audit firm or similar financial services setting.
  • Intermediate Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong written and spoken English language skills.

What We Offer:

BDO South Africa offers a competitive salary package, commensurate with market rates, which includes:

$120,000 per annum (estimated salary based on Gauteng location)
