Job Title: Senior General Counsel

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior General Counsel to oversee the legal and compliance functions across all our businesses.

About the Role

As the General Counsel, you will be responsible for leading our legal department, providing expert legal advice, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and managing legal risks across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the legal team, providing oversight and guidance on all legal matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and governance requirements, including international laws.
  • Advise senior management on legal risks, opportunities, and regulatory developments.
  • Manage disputes, litigation, and external counsel relationships when necessary.
  • Develop and implement company policies to mitigate legal risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Support the company's corporate governance framework, including board resolutions, shareholder meetings, and regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including HR, operations, and finance, to ensure legal compliance across all functions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) and admission as an attorney or advocate.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in managing legal matters for a diverse portfolio of businesses, preferably within the hospitality and food & beverage sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of both local and international legal requirements, including governance and compliance for UK entities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a legal team and collaborate with various departments.
  • Proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
