Job Description

RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join their team in assisting with legal matters and providing support to senior advisors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Support: Provide general legal support to various divisions of the company, including Finance & Management Support, Management Programme, FCA's, and Professional Services.
  • Document Drafting: Draft legal documentation, including contract templates, default notices, PSP appointment letters, and other relevant documents.
  • Vetting and Compliance: Vetting and compliance with all legal documentation drafted on behalf of third-party funders.
  • Litigation and Disputes: Monitor ongoing litigation and disputes, vetting court documentation where applicable.
  • Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders on legal matters.
  • Registration and Securities: Attend to registration of securities and signing of irrevocable payment undertakings and perfecting of securities.
  • Correspondence: Attend to legal correspondence with all relevant stakeholders, including employers, clients, and third parties.
  • Special Tasks: Assist with special tasks on an ad hoc basis.
  • Legal Risk Management: Identify and manage potential legal risk.
  • Clearance and Contract Execution: Ensure that all suspensive conditions are met prior to clearance being given (FMS) and that all contract documents are correctly executed.
  • Debt Collection: Assist with debt collection on behalf of the company, drafting LOD/AOD, and monitoring repayments.
  • Collection Targets: Set and meet collection targets as per agreement by the company.
  • Debt Collection Meetings: Attend debt collection meetings.
  • External Attorneys: Instruct external attorneys per requirement.
  • Attorney Liaison: Liaise with attorneys and respond to queries and requests for information.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist with trial preparation, including documentary evidence and briefing of witnesses.
  • Reports and Offers: Draft and submit reports to the Legal Manager as required and draft offers of employment and employment contracts.
  • Disciplinary Matters: Assist with disciplinary matters, including drafting disciplinary documentation.
  • CCMA Hearings: Attend CCMA hearings and prepare hearing bundles.
  • Company Policies: Redraft Company HR Policies, monitoring input from external and internal stakeholders, and drive to completion.
  • Performance Grading: Monitor performance gradings and provide guidance to the relevant Executive.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: LLB - Admitted attorney (admitted conveyancer will be advantageous).
  • Experience: At least 5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Labour Law: Contracts, CCMA, and disciplinary matters.
  • Litigation: Court processes and litigation.
  • Legal Recoveries: Basic knowledge of contract law, interpretation, drafting, and vetting.
  • Advantageous Skills: Knowledge of the built environment and standard building contracts, including JBCC 6.2, GCC (2015), and NEC4 suite of agreements.
  • Policy Review: Experience in policy review.
