Job Title: Desktop Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Engineer to join our team at Top Vitae. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our computer systems and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining desktop management documentation, including job cards and tracking ticket updates;
  • Analyzing and resolving end-user hardware and software computer problems;
  • Providing regular feedback to customers on requests logged;
  • Maintaining the ICT service level agreement priority structure;
  • Tagging and managing ICT assets, including consumables and stock management;
  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing desktop/laptop hardware and software;
  • Providing end-user training where required;
  • Supporting and troubleshooting hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and copiers;
  • Supporting and troubleshooting software such as Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Projecting a professional image of the company Information and Communication Technology during all client interactions;
  • Maintaining minimum agreed levels of interaction with the various company Divisions/Subsidiaries and Clients;
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities when dealing with key suppliers;
  • Supporting the company ICT Team.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in Information Technology (IT), with at least a bachelor's degree in computer science;
  • 3 years relevant experience;
  • Proven work experience as a Desktop Engineer;
  • Cisco Meraki experience will be advantageous;
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs;
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners;
  • Solid knowledge in the administration and support of Microsoft Windows and Networks;
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions;
  • Valid Driver's license;
  • Strong administrative skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Customer service excellence;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Discipline in the workplace.
