Field Service Engineering Intern – Gauteng

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the Service Division, this internship offers you the opportunity to collaborate with our team in delivering technical assistance to our clientele, ensuring they derive maximum benefit from Smith & Nephew technologies.

To Succeed in This Role, You Will Need:

  • Completion of learning modules on SNN's surgical video.
  • Mastery of learning modules related to associated technologies.
  • Familiarity with all Instructions for Use (IFU) for SNN equipment.
  • Understanding of standard wiring diagrams, inputs, and outputs pertinent to SNN systems.
  • Proficiency in all supported sterilization methods as applicable.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and in-service evaluations.
  • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding service, product complaints, and recalls.
  • Completion of CRICE clinical practice modules.
  • Support for regional clinical engineers and local sales representatives as needed.
  • Demonstration of knowledge and capability to engage with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in Smith & Nephew surgical imaging systems and related technologies on the Camera Tower/stack.
  • Competence in delivering tailored camera system configurations for various surgical disciplines including Arthroscopy, Laparoscopy, ENT, Urology, GYN, etc.
  • Compliance with industry standards and hospital protocols for the handling of equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Matriculation Certificate.
  • Degree or National Diploma in Electronic Engineering or Clinical Engineering.
  • Completion of Practical Session 1 (P1).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Access to a personal vehicle.
