Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Investigator to join our team at Walena Africa Capital. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating incidents of fraud, theft, corruption, and money laundering.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forensic investigation and auditing, with a minimum of 6 years of experience. They will also possess excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to identify fraudulent practices.

Suitable candidates will have a degree or diploma in Forensic Investigation and Auditing or Accounting, and active membership in ACFE/CFP is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify control breakdowns and produce high-quality reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Investigate incidents of fraud, theft, corruption, and money laundering using best practice methodology.
  • Establish working relationships with businesses and discuss the outcome of forensic investigations with line managers to mitigate fraud risks.
  • Ensure continuous professional development within the fraud risk management function and industry.
  • Manage and support staff to ensure they function at their best level of ability.
Methodology

Preliminary Investigations involve fact-finding missions, verifying facts, determining the nature of the crime, and identifying possible suspects.

A Preliminary Report outlines initial findings and makes recommendations on how to proceed with the investigation.

During the Execution of Investigation phase, all outstanding information is gathered, witness statements are obtained, and potential risks to the group are identified based on established facts.

Reporting involves compiling a comprehensive investigation report detailing relevant findings, highlighting potential identified risks, and supplying recommendations on how to remedy these risks.
