Exceed Human Resource Consultants is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in the success of our construction projects.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the estimating process for our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive tenders, ensuring timely submission, and managing the entire estimating process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Project Costs:
    • Develop and maintain accurate and compliant tender submission documents, including bill of quantities, according to project requirements.
  • Tender Management:
    • Bid on projects, negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, and manage the overall tendering process to secure profitable contracts.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.
  • At least 5 years' experience as an Estimator at a medium to large construction company.
  • Minimum 5 years' on-site experience in the construction industry, preferably in the Roads and Earthworks and/or Township services industries.
  • Advanced Proficiency of CCS estimating and planning modules.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook) and Adobe.
  • Sound knowledge of standard contract documentation (GCC, NEC, FIDIC, JBCC) and specifications (SANS/COLTO/COTO).
  • Ability to review the tender documentation and identify any potential risk and/or gains.
  • Ability to do take-offs and prepare sub-contracting and buying schedules.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is R1,000,000 - R1,500,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
