Our client, widely considered as one of the finest golf clubs in South Africa, consistently delivering high quality and unique experiences for members and guests is searching for an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead its prestigious club.

The General Manager will report to President of the Main Committee of the golf club and be responsible for overseeing all aspects of club operations (Clubhouse/F&B/Finance/Golf Operations/Golf Course), ensuring an outstanding member experience, and driving the club’s strategic initiatives.

In alignment with the Main Committee, the GM will set the overall strategic direction and define the key performance indicators and will effectively manage all aspects of the business while guiding the management team.

The GM will demonstrate seasoned leadership skills in developing a coherent culture with clarity, vision, values and practices that align with the broader vision and goals of the golf club. The role will foster a healthy environment conducive to maximizing capabilities and supporting operational excellence, member engagement and continuous improvement of all processes.

**_ The role requires a strong business leader and culture builder who has sound experience in 5-star service delivery, marketing, business development and financial management within the golf and clubhouse environment._**

The GM has the task to build on a high profile and respected brand in delivering an excellent golf and hospitality experience to members and guests. As the Golf Club is part of a Golf & Country Estate, the GM will build/maintain a good relationship with the homeowners’ association and residents of the estate.

**GENERAL DUTIES**
- Plan, coordinate and direct business operations to ensure the achievement of company revenue goals and documentation of expenses.
- Develop, outline and implement plans and strategies to increase the profitability of the Club service offering.
- Develop and initiate strategies to maintain employee productivity, evaluate performance and improve the quality of products and services.
- Document and provide employee, business and expense reports to the main committee.
- Provide feedback and make recommendations that increase the success of marketing efforts and the effectiveness of current marketing strategies at reaching target markets.
- Schedule and lead staff meetings to discuss updates, issues, feedback and to create solutions to issues that come up within the club's operations.
- Train, guide and mentor employees and evaluate their performance and productivity in completing their job duties by introducing clear objectives and regular performance reviews on all levels of business.
- Assist the departmental managers in recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating employees and ensure staff complies with company policy and procedures.

**SUMMARY OF KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:
**1. Finance & Membership Administration**
Review / Implement standard processes and procedures.
Ensure accurate and up to date database management.

**2. Clubhouse Management**
Develop strategies and manage business resources to advance the set goals for the long-term sustainability of the club.
Effectively manage all departments and staff, implement and manage all policies, standards, procedures & controls, service levels, hygiene, security, maintenance, health & safety
Ensure to meet performance goals and maintain financial budgets and margins.
Effectively manage all internal and external services to ensure that the needs and requirements of members, residents, guests and clients are met in line with a memorable and unique experience.

**3. Golf Course, Golf Operations, Pro Shop**
Oversee the effective maintenance of the golf course, ensuring that the required high standards are consistently met.
Effectively manage all internal and external services to ensure that the client’s needs are met with regard to check-in, bag drop, speed of play, condition of the golf course and overall experience satisfaction with the goal to deliver excellent service standards.

4**. Marketing & Communication**

Conceptualization and implementation of marketing strategies, keeping up to date with current trends, implementing strategies for revenue generation, new membership growth as well as implementing processes to ensure high levels of membership retention.
Establish effective PR and Social Media strategies to drive positive brand and value recognition and improve ranking positions.

**5. Constitutional, Secretarial and Legal**

Manage all aspects of the constitutional, secretarial and legal requirements of the Golf Club and Golf Course Association in alignment with the Main Committee
