Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Plant Foreman to oversee the safe, effective, and efficient operation of our metallurgical plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production process activities, supervising staff, and ensuring that all plant activities are functionally covered.

Main Responsibilities

  • Production Management
    • Check staffing figures at the start of the shift and ensure that all plant activities are functionally covered.
    • Manage production process activities, trends, and brief subordinates accordingly at the start of each shift.
  • Staff Supervision
    • Take corrective actions and instruct staff accordingly in significant deviations in the plant processing which may influence safety or production.
    • Ensure work schedules are adhered to.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Interpret information from plant readings and determine required adjustments to maximise production.
    • Hand over shift reporting on all required information to the next Plant Foreman.
    • Meet daily operational targets.

Requirements

  • Qualifications
    • Completed all modules and required process unit standards as per career path.
    • At least 5 years working experience as Plant Shift Leader in a Processing Plant is essential.
  • Skills
    • Good organising and delegation skills.
    • Self-driven and highly motivated with good interpersonal skills.
    • Good leadership skills.
    • Maintain a high standard of work.
    • Good communication skills - must be able to communicate in English.
