Job Title: Blitz Team Member - Sales Executive

At Smollan, we're seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Blitz Team Member to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth through effective in-store execution and strong business relationships with store owners and managers.

About the Role
  • Drive sell-out and maintain retail assets and retail mapping through effective in-store execution.
  • BUILD STRONG BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS WITH STORE OWNERS AND MANAGERS.
  • Creative display building and store set up.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
  • Drive Sell-Out: Achieve targeted sell-out levels and ensure that all stores are fully stocked and merchandised according to client briefs.
  • Comply with Call Cycle: Ensure that all stores are visited regularly and that all activities are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Effective Management of Returned Goods System: Ensure that all returned goods are processed efficiently and that damaged goods are collected promptly.
  • Provide Feedback: Provide regular feedback to store owners and managers on store-specific issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate and Escalate Stock Issues: Communicate any stock issues to the relevant stakeholders and escalate these issues promptly if necessary.
  • Monitor and Communicate Pricing: Monitor pricing in stores and communicate any discrepancies to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Confirm Pricing: Confirm pricing in accordance with promotions and ensure that all prices are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Implement Sales Promotional Activity: Implement sales promotional activity as per client brief and ensure that all activity is executed effectively.
  • Training of Store Sales Consultants: Train store sales consultants on new products and promotions and provide ongoing support and coaching.
  • Ensure Registration on MCS: Ensure that all store sales consultants are registered on MCS and drive uploads.
  • Capture Required Sell-Out Data: Capture required sell-out data on HHT and ensure that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Effective Management of Shelf Health: Ensure that all shelves are well-organized and visually appealing and that all products are properly displayed.
  • Count Stock and Merchandise Available Stock: Count stock and merchandise available stock in line with client brief and ensure that all products are properly priced and displayed.
  • Optimize Stock Levels: Optimize stock levels, monitor slow/fast sellers, and take appropriate action to ensure that all products are selling well.
  • Quality Checks: Conduct quality checks to ensure that all products are of high quality and that any poor-quality or damaged stock is removed promptly.
  • Keep Area/Shelves Clean and Tidy: Keep area/shelves clean, tidy, and uncluttered at all times.
  • Cross-Merchandise Opportunities: Identify opportunities to cross-merchandise and implement these opportunities to increase sales.
  • Communicate and Achieve Brand Objectives: Communicate and achieve brand objectives and ensure that all activity is executed effectively.
  • Manage Out-of-Stocks: Manage out-of-stocks and ensure that all products are restocked promptly.
  • Negotiate Prime Positioning: Negotiate prime positioning of Samsung products with store management and ensure that all products are properly displayed.
  • Execute Promotional Activity: Execute promotional activity effectively and ensure that all activity is executed within agreed timelines.
  • Communicate Promotional Activities: Communicate promotional activities to customers and ensure that all activity is executed effectively.
  • Negotiate POP Material: Negotiate POP material with store owners/managers and ensure that all materials are properly displayed.
  • Report on Promotional Activities: Report on promotional activities and ensure that all activity is executed effectively.
  • Provide Feedback: Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders and ensure that all feedback is constructive and actionable.
  • Monitor Competitors' New Innovations: Monitor competitors' new innovations and ensure that Smollan stays ahead of the competition.
  • Train In-Store Staff: Train in-store staff on mechanics of promotion and provide feedback to management.
About You
  • Education: Diploma at NQF level 5 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: 2-3 years sales experience in consumer electronics.
  • Skills: Effective administration, customer service skills, shelf management, communication skills (verbal and written), team management skills, sales/retail/business development jobs.

Estimated salary: R120,000 - R150,000 per annum.
