Group Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Financial Accountant to join our team at Sagen Advisory. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and administrative functions of our group, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to our management team.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance reports for the Managing Director.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial planning.
- Finalize general ledger, accruals, provisions, depreciation, and journals.
- Manage cash flow and ensure accurate bank and suspense reconciliations.
- Prepare information for annual audits, including accounting packs, annual financial statements, and lead schedules.
- Manage Syspro modules, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, work-in-progress, and general ledger to trial balance.
- Set up and create users, product classes, warehouses, client groupings, costings, and other accounting system configurations.
- Administer vendor contracts, lease agreements, equipment rentals, and other financial agreements.
- Supervise and control accounting staff, providing on-the-job training and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Manage monthly salaries, weekly wage reconciliations, and payment of monthly benefits.
- Assist with BBBEE administration and compilation of annual financial statements.
- Prepare, review, and submit VAT, PAYE, SDL, and other statutory tasks.
- Prepare, review, and submit tax returns.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as AGA(SA), PA(SA), CA(SA), or CIMA.
- Completed SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA articles.
- Post-articles experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting and finance experience.
- Syspro or related ERP accounting software experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Multi-company exposure in a group structure.
- R480,000 to R660,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 13th Cheque.
