We are seeking a highly skilled Controller and Head of Finance to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing budgets, overseeing cash flow, ensuring tax compliance, improving systems, and collaborating with senior leadership to streamline operations and boost decision-making efficiency.

About the Role
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and management accounts, and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
  • Develop and track annual budgets, financial forecasts, and performance reports to support strategic planning.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial records by reconciling bank accounts, investment accounts, and transactions.
  • Oversee daily financial operations, monitor cash flow, and ensure efficient fund accounting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations by submitting VAT and statutory returns and adhering to financial reporting standards.
  • Implement and improve financial controls, policies, and reporting systems to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
  • Coordinate with auditors, provide necessary documentation, and ensure smooth audit processes.
  • Manage invoicing, client payments, supplier payments, purchase orders, and resolve financial queries.
  • Maintain financial databases, develop dashboards, and improve reporting tools for better decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, investment teams, and other departments to support financial decision-making and operational success.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Qualified AGA(SA) or CGMA with 5-7 years of PQE, or Newly Qualified CA (SA) with 0-1 years of PQE
  • Experience: Experience working with lots of clients will be beneficial
  • Skills: Skilled in prioritizing tasks, managing pressure, and meeting tight deadlines
  • Tech Skills: Experienced working on Xero is advantageous, Familiarity with SalesForce or other CRM systems will be beneficial
  • Salary: R40 000 - R55 000 / month
