About the Role

As a Social Work Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that our social work services meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. This will involve:

  • Leading a team of social workers, social auxiliary workers, and volunteers to deliver excellent social work services
  • Supervising and advising team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new developments in the social work field
  • Coordinating administrative functions and undertaking higher-level administrative tasks

Key Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A formal tertiary qualification in Social Work (e.g., Bachelor of Social Work) that allows professional registration with the SACSSP
  • Registration with the SACSSP as a Social Worker
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in social work after registration as a Social Worker with the SACSSP
  • A valid code B driving license

Competencies

You will also need:

  • Knowledge of job-related concepts, analytic diagnostic tools, evaluation methods, and processes
  • Personnel management skills
  • Ability to supervise and advise social workers, social auxiliary workers, and volunteers
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social work theory and interventions
  • Information and knowledge management skills
