Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineering Lead to join our team at Shoprite. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless communication and data transfer across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Design and Implementation: Design and implement network architecture to meet the business needs of Shoprite, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Network Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor and maintain network performance, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal network functionality.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors to ensure timely and effective delivery of network services and equipment.
  • Capacity Planning and Management: Plan and manage network capacity to ensure adequate resources to meet business needs, minimizing the risk of network congestion and downtime.
  • Incident Management: Provide technical support and incident management services to resolve network-related issues and minimize business impact.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a senior network engineering role, with a strong background in network design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and architectures, including routing, switching, and security. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Certifications: Cisco CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with Network Management Tools: Familiarity with network management tools, such as CA Performance Center, NFA, and Velocloud Orchestrator.
  • Experience with Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
