Requirements:
  • No formal education and a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
  • National diploma in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • National diploma in Civil Engineering with Professional Technologist Registration and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience after registration.
Registration:
  • Professional Technologist or Professional Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or any other body recognized by ECSA.
  • Sanral project experience is critical.
  • Experience with COTO (COLTO) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality control and maintenance of test request books.
  • Monitoring and visual inspections of the Works and construction activities.
  • Monitoring and assessing material, borrow pit, and quarry utilization.
  • Coordinating testing activities between the Contractor and the Site Laboratory.
  • Assessing laboratory test results and reporting.
  • Preparing and interpreting graphic representations of test results.
  • Mix design and trial section evaluation and reporting.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly materials reports.
  • Monthly audits.
  • Formalizing materials As-Built data and submitting a final approved report in accordance with Client requirements.
  • Maintaining a daily site diary.
