Job Title: Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Sharon Nurock Recruitment CC. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to management and operational areas, ensuring compliance with IFRS and maintaining the fixed asset register.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Strategy:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
    • Provide financial analysis and support to management and operational areas.
    • Monitor and manage debtors and creditors, ensuring timely payment and minimizing bad debt.
    • Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Control intercompany balancing, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation.
    • Review and action financial (budget/forecast), and sheet account variances.
    • Ensure compliance with IFRS, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting.
    • Maintain and review the risk register, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Budgets/Forecasts:
    • Participate in and prepare budgets and forecasts process for plants, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Prepare plant profit and loss and balance sheet forecasts, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare financial reports and returns, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
    • Flash results - compile the BU/Plant Flash Results and analyze variances, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Capex, Tooling & Fixed Assets:
    • Prepare and maintain a Capex and Tooling register, tracking actual spend against approved spend, planning future profitability and cash flows of projects.
    • Prepare Capex requisitions, providing detailed information regarding the Capex project.
    • Support useful life and residual value of Fixed Assets analysis, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Maintain the BU/Plant Tooling Reports, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Audits and Year-End Processes:
    • Prepare and plan year-end Statutory Audit, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Prepare and arrange royalty audits, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Costing:
    • Calculate landed cost on all import shipments, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Prepare/review Declaration of Imported Components and Raw Materials, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Investigate Purchase Price Variances (PPV), providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
    • Generate variance report of Actuals to budgeted information, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Stock Control:
    • Compile daily stock holding report, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Oversee stock takes and assist with investigating stock count variances, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Cash / Debtors / Creditors Management:
    • Oversee cash management function of the plant, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Monitor daily cash positions and cash flows to ensure settlement and maximize performance.
    • Manage cash flow and working capital for the plant, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Review debtors age analysis, providing an analysis and action plans for debt collections.
    • Review creditor's age analysis and GRNI, providing an analysis and action plans.
  • Forex:
    • Review Forex forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Plant FEC contracts based on AP requirements, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify improvement opportunities and make recommendations for improvements, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare financial reports and returns, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
    • Generate information and reports for internal and external use, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
