Job Summary:

Emerson Automation Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing security solutions to meet the needs of our customers in the Southern African region.

About the Role:

  • You will work closely with our customers to understand their security needs and develop tailored solutions to address these needs.
  • You will be responsible for performing vulnerability assessments on customer control systems, developing assessment reports, and suggesting mitigation strategies.
  • You will implement recommended mitigation strategies and install, configure, and tune Emerson Cybersecurity solutions.
  • You will work with our customers to ensure that the offered solutions meet the specifications and achieve customer acceptance.
  • You will be responsible for selecting required components, configuring them, and ensuring that the solutions meet the specifications and achieve customer acceptance.
  • You will work on current Emerson solutions, including McAfee, Symantec, Acronis, and in-house Emerson offerings.
  • You will develop a positive environment in the Cybersecurity team for work and professional growth.
  • You will support Emerson MEA with sales activities as required.
  • You will perform base customer support activities, including phone support, field service, and remote diagnostics, as well as work with Emerson Field Support Engineers, regional offices, and authority resources as needed to resolve issues.
  • You will continually and proactively increase your technical capabilities, growing and establishing higher levels of expertise.

Requirements:

  • You will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or computer technology or equivalent.
  • You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in DCS systems and relevant experience towards Cybersecurity will be evaluated.
  • You will have a good understanding of Emerson Distributed Control System requirements and applicable Cybersecurity solutions.
  • You will have acquired at least basic qualifications in Networking, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • You will have good familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems and Windows Domains.
  • You will have experience in Virtualization preferred.
  • You will have excellent oral and written communication skills in a formal environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You will have knowledge of Cybersecurity appliances, applications, tools, and techniques used in DeltaV/Ovation and in other applications.
  • You will be conversant with DeltaV Networking, DeltaV Virtual Studio, DeltaV Cybersecurity, and antivirus solutions.
  • You will possess sophisticated fixing skills (diagnosing and resolving computer-related issues).
  • You will be able to work optimally with internal and external customers.
  • You will have a solid understanding of ISA/IEC 62443 and DeltaV Cybersecurity manual.
  • You will have language skills in English, written and spoken, and French language skills will be an added advantage.
  • You will recognize and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson's Company Procedures.
