We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team at RMV Solutions. Based in the City of Cape Town CBD, our client is a professional accounting and tax practice that offers exceptional services to a diverse portfolio of local and international clients.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert tax compliance services to our clients, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tax returns and other statutory requirements. With a strong background in tax structuring and client management, you will have excellent organizational skills, outstanding people skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurate computation and preparation of complex or simple tax returns
  • Collation, sorting, and processing of financial information for tax calculations and schedules
  • Submission of all tax-related returns, documents, reconciliations, self-assessments, and correspondence with clients by relevant deadlines
  • Compilation of management statements, annual financial statements, and other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
  • Handling client queries regarding bookkeeping, annual financial statements, management statements, tax, income distributions, etc.
  • Administration of Income/Provisional/Employees/Value-added/Dividend Tax/Estate Planning, etc.
  • Correspondence with SARS on behalf of clients on various matters, including objections, appeals, and alternative dispute resolution hearings
  • Staying up-to-date with changing tax laws
  • Training team members and supporting their related work responsibilities
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Tertiary qualification with at least 5 years of income tax returns and accounting experience in an accounting/audit/financial firm
  • Minimum of 5 years of SARS e-filing, Draftworx, Sage Accounting/XERO software experience
  • Completed 3-year articles
  • Strong technical knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standards for small and medium-sized entities (IFRS for SMEs), Companies Act, Income Tax Act, Tax Administration Act, VAT, PAYE, and other SARS regulations
  • Exceptional numerical skills/maths skills and analytical skills
  • Critical and logical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong, thorough, and accurate data-capturing skills
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills in both English & Afrikaans
  • Proficiency with computers, particularly Draftworx, Sage One Accounting, Xero Accounting, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Estimated Salary: R800,000 - R1,000,000 per annum, depending on experience.
