Job Title: Financial Compliance Specialist

**Job Description**We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Compliance Specialist to join our finance team in Cape Town. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements, managing tax compliance, and overseeing VAT management. Your expertise in financial analysis and reporting will enable us to make informed decisions and drive business growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably with a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting is required, with a focus on year-end financials, tax, and VAT. You will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Additionally, effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.

**Responsibilities*** Prepare and review year-end financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.* Ensure accuracy and compliance with financial reporting requirements.* Sign off on financial statements and liaise with external auditors during the audit process.* Manage tax compliance, including preparing and submitting corporate tax returns and providing tax planning and advisory services.* Oversee VAT management, ensuring accurate and timely submission of VAT returns and maintaining proper documentation.* Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.* Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.* Work closely with other departments to gather necessary financial information and provide support and training to junior staff as needed.

**Requirements*** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.* Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on year-end financials, tax, and VAT.* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.* Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
