Job Title: Casual Merchandiser

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Casual Merchandiser to join their team in George, Garden Route Mall. As a key member of the retail team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our store's merchandising standards are consistently met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Restock merchandise as needed to maximize sales and maintain a visually appealing store environment.
  • Ensure delivered stock is stored and packed efficiently, and that stock on shelves has not reached its sell-by date.
  • Facilitate the rotation of stock on a regular, FIFO basis to prevent expired or damaged products from being sold.
  • Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management in a timely manner.
  • Assist with counting of stock files and general stocktaking to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem's operating standards, store layout, and planograms to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers.
  • Ensure boxes are flattened after unpacking stock and taken to the designated area.
  • Keep the store's front shop shelves and products neatly presented and visible at all times, with correct labels and pricing.
  • Report any price discrepancies to management and maintain a high level of product knowledge to provide excellent customer service.
  • Minimize losses by handling all merchandise carefully and adhering to Dis-Chem's policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
  • Up to 6 months retail experience.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to work retail hours and lift heavy boxes.
  • Reliable transport and/or reside in close proximity to the store.
  • South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
