A Senior Leadership opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Manufacturing Operations Director to join our team. This role requires a highly experienced leader with a proven track record of driving efficiencies, enhancing processes, and addressing production challenges.

About the Role:

We are seeking an accomplished Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our factory. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manufacturing environments, including CNC programming, and scheduling machine maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage production process to achieve targets most efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Optimize production processes, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
  • Set goals, objectives, and standards of measurement for the factory.
  • Meet delivery dates (OTIF) and communicate with planning.
  • Oversee the design team through the new product development process.
  • Ensure compatibility with production methods and product quality and durability.
  • Drive timelines and follow up on outsourced components.
  • Ensure that prototypes are delivered to requested specifications.
  • Check and approve product costing.
  • Ensuring that the products manufactured meet the required quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control measures throughout the production process.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory.
  • Managing inventory, scheduling maintenance and repairs, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and recommend capex requirements for cost benefit and suitability.
  • Financial management, including setting and managing budgets, financial goals, and monitoring financial performance.
  • Staff Management, including leading the team of employees in the factory.
  • Providing regular feedback and coaching to ensure teams are working effectively.
  • Fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and high performance.
  • Implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conducting safety audits and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12.
  • Relevant Diploma/ Degree in Engineering or Production/Operations Management would be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role.
  • Deep understanding of Manufacturing environment machinery.
  • Ability to programme CNC Machines.
  • Sound experience understanding the production process and function and applying continuous improvement processes.
  • Unwavering focus on delivering results and problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
