Food Manufacturing Operations Director

This role will oversee the entire production process, ensuring that specifications are followed and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) are adhered to at all times. It will also involve meeting all customer product requirements, including order quantity and quality.

The ideal candidate will be a technically sound leader with 5 years of relevant production management experience gained in the food manufacturing industry. A production management or related degree or diploma is required, with postgraduate qualifications being advantageous.

The role will involve planning and organisation, resource management, administration, production management, and risk and compliance. Key duties and responsibilities will include ensuring proper and accurate production planning, liaising with technical and maintenance departments, and maintaining proper functioning of manufacturing equipment.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing teams to produce results in line with customer expectations, supervising, mentoring, and motivating employees, and conducting regular team meetings. They will also be required to maintain accurate traceability throughout the production process and ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping, and pest control.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. They will also need to have a strong understanding of food manufacturing and production, as well as Lean Manufacturing Methodologies and financial acumen.
