Job Summary

Empire Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Technical Accounts Specialist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in the meticulous management of reinsurance technical accounts, ensuring accurate and timely processing and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review data entry for Facultative, Proportional, and Non-Proportional Treaty Accounting, ensuring precision and accuracy in financial reports.
  • Supervise all aspects of Reinsurance Technical Accounts, guaranteeing seamless processing and reporting.
  • Review monthly reports and reconciliations for accuracy, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Monitor outstanding losses balances and contribute to the preparation of quarterly reports, providing valuable insights to management.
  • Calculate profit commissions to facilitate informed financial decisions, ensuring the company's growth and success.
  • Prepare detailed Age-Analysis Reports for management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly and year-end reports, providing a comprehensive overview of the company's financial performance.
  • Collaborate in resolving client queries promptly and effectively, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Authorise and release disbursements via the online banking system, ensuring secure and efficient financial transactions.
  • Handle processing of Reinsurance Treaty and Facultative Accounts, maintaining accurate records and reconciliations.
  • Accurately capture journal entries onto the accounting system, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure smooth month-end processing and reporting, guaranteeing a seamless transition to the next period.
  • Oversee cash calls and claims processing for optimal accuracy, ensuring timely and efficient financial transactions.
  • Take charge of credit control, including follow-ups with Brokers for balances, maintaining a positive and professional relationship with clients.
  • Maintain cashbooks and perform bank reconciliations for Premium and Claim Bank Accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Calculate monthly forex gain/loss on cash receipt transactions, providing valuable insights to management.
  • Support in the calculation and booking of premiums and claims recoveries, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting Departments, Brokers, and Clients to address queries, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Uphold the integrity of data and contract setup within reinsurance systems, maintaining accurate and reliable financial records.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of reinsurance technical accounts and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Accpac, with the ability to accurately capture journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to identify and address discrepancies in financial reports.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective query resolution, with the ability to collaborate with clients, brokers, and underwriting departments.
  • Sound knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles, with the ability to accurately capture and report financial data.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records and reconciliations, with a strong understanding of reinsurance technical accounts and financial reporting.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to accurately capture and report financial data.
  • Collaborative approach to teamwork and problem-solving, with the ability to work effectively with clients, brokers, and underwriting departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a strong understanding of reinsurance technical accounts and financial reporting.
