Job Title: Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Mass Markets. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing our financial operations and driving financial strategy to support our business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and comprehensive financial plans.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards.
  • Develop financial models, forecasts, and variance analyses to assess financial performance, identify trends, and evaluate business metrics.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, liaise with auditors, and address audit findings and recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Manage cash flow projections and working capital requirements to support daily operations.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and insights to senior management and key stakeholders to support decision-making, business planning, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements, including VAT, corporate income tax, and payroll taxes.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, regulatory authorities, and business partners.
  • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management to support business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (CA/CIMA/ACCA/SAIPA)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience working in multinational corporations or large-scale organizations preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of building high-performing teams and driving results in a dynamic business environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, integrity, and adherence to deadlines in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
