Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at The Icon Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for sizing mechanical components of process flow sheets and generating mechanical equipment lists.

Responsibilities
  • Process Design: Sizing of mechanical components and generation of mechanical equipment lists
  • Package Management: Adjudication of mechanical packages and management of procurement packages
  • Drawing and Layout: Assisting with layout generation, drawing compilation, and drawing reviews
  • Interfacing: Interfacing with process, electrical, civil, structural, and instrumentation engineers
  • Project Management: Management of small to medium-sized projects, including technical, commercial, and financial project control
  • Reporting: Reporting of technical, progress, and financial aspects per project
  • Client Interaction: Client-facing interaction and dissemination of client needs, wants, and expectations into a project execution plan
  • Site Work: Regular time on site, mainly driven by the stage of project
  • Technical Oversight: Ultimate responsibility and oversight for the complete technical solution and project success measured by time, cost, and quality
Qualifications/SkillsNon-Negotiable Qualifications/Skills
  • B.Tech., B.Eng., or B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years' experience in the mining or minerals processing industry
  • Proficient in MS suite of products, including MS Projects
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
Additional Qualifications/Skills
  • Proficient in MS Projects or Prima Vera
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other computer-based drafting packages is beneficial
  • Registration with ECSA is beneficial
  • PMP or equivalent certification is beneficial
