The Technical Operations Manager is tasked with supervising the engineering and operational aspects of infrastructure service platforms and/or software. This position mobilizes team resources to address scenarios where standard procedures have not resolved issues in non-operational infrastructure platforms and/or software.

This role oversees a team dedicated to the design, delivery, support, and optimization of platform infrastructure. Responsibilities include planning and executing strategic projects, enhancement initiatives, and baseline requests in alignment with established service levels, budgets, and compliance standards. The position plays a crucial role in shaping the IT operations framework and solution lifecycle, requiring extensive hands-on experience with infrastructure technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the engineering and operational management of infrastructure service platforms.
  • Work collaboratively with development teams, partners, and vendors on design, reliability, and maintenance challenges.
  • Identify emerging technology solutions and collaborate with business stakeholders to anticipate future requirements.
  • Manage operational costs and staff resources to ensure efficient functionality.
  • Oversee testing and analysis of all components within the infrastructure service platforms.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of infrastructure service platforms and/or software, aligning operational costs with business expectations while adhering to regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Manage activities to maintain optimal infrastructure performance, including system upgrades, security implementations, monitoring, and support.
  • Direct daily operations of the team to ensure requests are addressed within service level agreement parameters.
  • Oversee staffing processes, including recruitment, supervision, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development for team members.
  • Report on overall performance against established targets.
  • Contribute to decisions regarding service operations management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Ability to analyze data and apply advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Exercise judgment and interpretation to establish procedures and policies for appropriate actions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Solutions, including design and implementation of Windows Server platforms, Office 365 migrations, Active Directory, Group Policy, and System Centre Configuration.
  • In-depth knowledge of network switches, routing, MPLS, administration, integration, security, and advancements.
  • Familiarity with architecture, design, configuration, and deployment within the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Understanding of server and desktop hardware/operating systems, networks, firewalls, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse user groups.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage organizational change effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT infrastructure management processes, techniques, risks, and best practices.
  • Expertise in infrastructure technologies such as system management, system/network administration, and development.
  • Understanding of server administration, data center operations, and project/change management principles.
  • Aptitude for facilitating strategic discussions to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
  • Ability to lead and manage technical personnel, delegating responsibilities appropriately.
  • Competence in presenting technical and complex matters to varied audiences.
  • Skill in translating business needs into IT solutions and providing detailed project management leadership.
  • Ability to develop divisional goals and objectives while performing planning and budgeting functions.
  • Effective interaction with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Capability to evaluate risks, priorities, and business benefits based on strong business acumen.
  • Ability to coordinate team activities and operationally plan and manage deliverables.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing a team of direct reports.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of information systems technology areas.
  • Proficient in leading and managing a team while guiding operational activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCIE/CCNP/ITIL/COBIT/PMP/CISA/CISM, etc.

Experience:

  • Significant experience in similar IT roles, focusing on IT infrastructure engineering and operations.
  • Experience in coaching and training facilitation.
  • Proven track record in a large-scale organization.
  • Experience with IT frameworks: ITIL, MoF, CoBIT, Run SAP.
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure and service delivery.
  • Experience working with vendors and/or service providers.
  • Demonstrated judgment and drive to plan, make decisions, and achieve individual and team objectives.
  • Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
