Job Title: Debt Counsellor

A Debt Counsellor at Octogen plays a vital role in helping clients manage their finances and become debt-free. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the National Credit Act and be able to negotiate with creditors to find cost-effective solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients to understand their debt situation and develop a plan to manage their finances.
  • Assess clients' income and expenditure to determine the best course of action.
  • Work with clients to create a monthly payment plan that meets their needs and is in line with the National Credit Act.
  • Communicate with creditors to negotiate realistic repayment plans for clients.
  • Manage financial documents and paperwork to ensure compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
  • Registered Debt Counsellor with the National Credit Regulator.
  • Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
  • 2-5 years' experience in debt review environment.
  • Knowledge of the National Credit Act and relevant regulations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
