Senior Buyer Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Buyer to lead our procurement efforts in the consumer electronics and home appliance sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving strategic procurement initiatives, developing and implementing category strategies, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the procurement process for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving sales and margin growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, leveraging negotiation and communication skills to secure optimal terms and conditions.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and supply chain risks to inform procurement decisions and drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and marketing, to ensure seamless execution of procurement strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in procurement processes and practices, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
  • Manage and develop junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field, or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 5+ years' experience in procurement, with a proven track record of success in the electronics or appliance sector.
  • Experience with procurement technology and systems, including contract negotiation and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations, with excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, think strategically, and drive results, with a strong problem-solving and project management skillset.
  • Dynamic and flexible, with the ability to work with different divisions and teams, and a passion for products and appliances.
