Electrical Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to join our team at iOCO. As a Senior Technician, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment, including UPS units, batteries, and inverters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Servicing and general maintenance of electrical systems and equipment according to Health and Safety standards.
  • Ensuring UPS installations are safe and ready to be commissioned, then performing correct commissioning steps as per the UPS OEM Commissioning Procedure.
  • Ensuring that electrical systems and equipment are installed according to exact requirements and regulations meeting ruling Electrical Installation Regulations.
  • Repairing damaged units using manufacturer's standards and spare parts.
  • Testing all electrical systems and equipment before leaving the site, ensuring that they are in good working condition.
  • Attending to client electrical system issues as and when requested.
  • Performing additional work outputs related to the role.
  • Drafting and emailing reports as and when required for management.

Requirements:

  • 7-9 years of function-related experience.
  • 6 years of UPS experience.
  • 7-9 years of project experience.
  • Leading teams: 7-9 years.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12.
  • Electrical Engineering Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Qualification preferred: Electrical Engineering Degree or MS Office Certificate.

Other information:

  • Permanent Position.
  • Location: Cape Town (Onsite).
  • Work environment: Office, warehouse site environment.
  • Physical demands: Site environment, moving of heavy equipment such as batteries.
  • Travel: Travel to sites on a daily basis, have your own reliable transport.
