Electrical Systems Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at SA Steelworks in Cape Town. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to the Electrical Department and ensuring the effective operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Connection of motors and control switchgear
  • Maintenance of service records for electrical equipment
  • Liaising with other departmental staff, supervisors, and managers
  • Using APIPRO to plan, track, and record tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with OHSA regulations and company policies
  • Requesting required materials for daily tasks and projects
  • Ensuring understanding of 24/7 operational needs and facilitating production goals
  • Point-to-point IO checks on PLCs and control and power systems
  • Participating in the RCM program
  • Reading and using electrical diagrams
  • Ensuring work standards are achieved
  • Ensuring effective use of resources

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 8+ years of relevant working experience
  • Able to work in a pressurized and demanding environment
  • Must have own reliable transport
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Good communication skills
  • Will to work overtime and standby as required
  • Ability to perform within a team
