We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Packhouse Manager to join our team at Farm Manager SA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the packhouse, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.
  • Monitor and maintain food safety and security standards, adhering to BRC, HACCP, and Global GAP accreditation.
  • Manage a diverse team of packhouse staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the harvesting staff, greenhouse manager, and freight coordination team to ensure seamless communication and logistics.
  • Identify and promote staff members who demonstrate good work ethic and contribute to the packhouse's success.
  • Minimize non-productive time and incentivize productivity in the pack line.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of packaging materials and place orders with suppliers in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Previous packhouse experience, including preparation and undertaking of audits for retailers.
  • Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and Global GAP accreditation advantageous.
  • Production and management experience.
  • Computer literate and able to work with IT systems and packaging machinery.
  • Meticulous record keeping and health and safety standards.
  • Effective communication and team management skills.
