Job Title: Lecturer Social Development Health Sciences

Nelson Mandela University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Social Development and Health Sciences to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the co-development of knowledge, skills, and practice competencies at under- and post-graduate levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate learning in various Social Development Professions under- and postgraduate programs.
  • Supervise research at under- and post-graduate levels.
  • Conduct, publish, and promote research in Social Development and Social Work.
  • Contribute to academic and operational administration within the department.
Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of the theory, skills, and practice of Social Development and Social Work.
  • Sound experience in facilitating learning and teaching, and practice coordination and clinical supervision in the discipline at a tertiary level institution.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work within a dynamic team.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work qualification + masters degree in social work. A PhD in Social Work would be advantageous.
  • Professional registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
  • A minimum of two to three years experience in lecturing Social Work at under and post graduate levels at a higher education institution.
