Job Title: Technical Specialist/Cloud Administrator

Barratt and Co is seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist/Cloud Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment: Design and deploy cloud-based infrastructure and services across multiple platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Cloud Environment Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and security of cloud environments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss in the event of a disaster.
  • Collaboration with Development Teams: Collaborate with development teams to support the deployment of new applications and services, ensuring seamless integration with cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure-related issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
  • Cloud Cost Management: Manage cloud costs and optimize resource utilization, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest level of security and data protection.
  • Cloud Technology Advancements: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies, applying new knowledge and skills to improve cloud infrastructure and services.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud administration or a similar role.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts, proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, experience with containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and experience with DevOps tools and methodologies.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
