About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to support our operations. As an integral part of our team, you will gain hands-on experience in various HR functions, including administrative tasks, payroll support, and maintaining employee records.

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to apply your formal education and develop key skills in a professional setting while contributing to the success of our HR department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative HR tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Payroll Support: Provide assistance with payroll processes, including record-keeping and data entry.
  • Employee Records: Maintain and organize employee records with confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Policy Development: Assist in creating and updating HR policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Support recruitment efforts and assist with onboarding new employees, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Training and Development: Provide administrative support for training and development activities, including scheduling and coordination.
  • HR Software Systems: Gain exposure to HR software systems, including Sage HR, and assist with system maintenance and updates.
  • Bookkeeping and Budgeting: Assist with bookkeeping and budgeting for HR-related projects, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.
  • Liaison with Departments: Liaise with various departments to ensure smooth HR operations and effective communication.
Requirements:
  • Be a South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
  • Not have participated in the YES Programme before.
  • Hold a NQF level 6 or higher qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of HR software systems, such as Sage HR, is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • BASIC bookkeeping and budgeting knowledge is a plus.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
