We are looking for a highly experienced Department Head to join our team at SGS. As the head of the Mineralogy department, you will be responsible for the overall management of the team's activities, including the coordination of mineralogical activities and the maintenance of XRD and QEMSCAN equipment.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient running of the mineralogical equipment with very low down times.
  • Assist management with work routing, formulating changes, improving work flow and maximum utilization of resources in the department.
  • Coordinate method development and ensure that clients are invoiced monthly for testwork completed and reported.
  • Maintain quality benchmarks and adhere to all safety requirements of the SGS management system.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology
  • At least 5 years of experience in the relevant field
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
