Job Overview
Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled Site Safety Manager to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of construction sites and ensuring compliance with South African health and safety laws.

About the Role
The Site Safety Manager will develop and maintain health and safety policies and procedures, conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, and ensure that workers use correct safety equipment. This role also involves investigating accidents, providing safety training, and working closely with site managers and subcontractors to ensure safety measures are followed.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain health and safety policies and procedures according to South African laws.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments on construction sites.
  • Evaluate and implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identify causes, and suggest improvements.
  • Provide safety training, site inductions, and regular safety talks for workers and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with site managers and subcontractors to ensure safety measures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, incidents, and training sessions.

Requirements:
  • National Diploma or similar qualification in Health and Safety or related field.
  • SAMTRAC or other safety certifications (preferable).
  • At least 3 years experience in a health and safety role, preferably in construction.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and construction safety standards.
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments and manage emergency procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to train and advise staff on safety practices.
  • Valid drivers license and own transport.
