We are seeking a highly skilled In-House Counsel Manager to lead our legal team at WeBuyCars. As a Commercial Lawyer Lead, you will be responsible for managing the litigation portfolio, drafting letters of demand, liaising with external counsel, controlling litigation spend, and driving settlements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage consumer disputes, including Motor Industry Ombudsman (MIOSA) and National Consumer Commission (NCC) matters
  • Conduct legal research and provide clear, proactive opinions on pre-emptive legal and reputational risks

You will work closely with the Compliance team on regulatory matters, assist with managing data breaches and security incidents, and update relevant sections of Board Reports. The ideal candidate will possess superior drafting skills, agility, and resilience, with a strong ability to manage competing priorities.

A LLB / Law qualification from a recognized university and admission to the High Court of South Africa are required. At least 4-6 years of post-admission experience and 1-2 years of in-house counsel experience are also necessary.
