Retail Store Manager

As a Store Manager at Carrol Boyes, you will be responsible for maximizing sales and controlling expenses. You will oversee stock control and conduct weekly stock takes, ensuring that the store is well-stocked and that inventory levels are accurate.
You will be responsible for scheduling and assigning employees, as well as following up on work results to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently. You will also be responsible for maintaining store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Additionally, you will prepare annual budgets, schedule expenditures, and analyze variances to ensure that the store is operating within budget. You will also identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
Other key responsibilities include ensuring the availability of merchandise and services, securing merchandise by monitoring security systems and measures, and protecting employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
You will also be responsible for maintaining the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements, setting up effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows, and managing all controllable costs to keep operations profitable.
Finally, you will analyze sales figures and forecast future sales, analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning, respond to customer complaints and comments, and maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry.
