Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Administer and manage processes as part of a systems administration team and be responsible for selected processes in the data center.
  • System administration skills required will create a balanced team combination with cross-functional skills and experience to support the following systems and components in the data center: SCCM, SCOM, VMWare, Active Directory and DNS, Back-ups and archiving, Veritas, Storage including a storage area network (SAN), Symantec antivirus, Patch management (Ivanti), Server management (Microsoft Windows).
  • Server hardware and software support.
  • Provide support to provincial and municipal offices.
  • Manage and monitor anti-virus products across the organization.
  • Manage and monitor patch management across the organization.
  • Resolve third level support problems.
  • Maintain 99.999% uptime of data-center operations.
  • Server maintenance and monitoring including knowledge of SCOM.
  • Monitor and maintain the load balanced internet information servers (IIS).
Skills Requirements:
  • MCSE, MCSD, MCSA, etc.
  • MCITP Enterprise Administrator (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) on Windows Server.
  • VMWare Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV).
  • MCDBA will be an advantage.
