About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Advisor to join our team at Rio Tinto Global Procurement. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring resilient supply chains that deliver value to the Rio Tinto Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support several business units in the RTP Africa region by developing expertise in various work processes and activities.
  • Work autonomously within established procedures and practices, independently solving problems of moderate complexity or recurring nature.
  • Coach and train business partner team members as needed.
  • Review and improve transactional activities, including creation, reviews, amendments, compliance, and system utilization efficiencies.
  • Combine business process and system reviews, engage with stakeholders, map potential solutions, and draft business requirement documentation.
  • Take accountability for own performance and understand the impacts of behaviors and actions on others.
  • Provide assistance in developing and implementing the Procurement Strategy and resolve problems with an open mind.
  • Ensure sound supply chain and procurement processes are followed, project implementation methodologies are deployed, and implementation is completed in accordance with RTP's process, documentation, and governance requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Commerce, IT, or Engineering.
  • In-depth understanding of Supply Chain, Contract Management, and Contract Management principles.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to engage with stakeholders across all spectrums of operations.
  • Appreciation and ability to grasp IT principles, system development, and user requirements.
  • Familiarity or ability to quickly understand a variety of supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient in English; French language proficiency advantageous.
  • Computer literate on MS Word, PowerBi, Projects, and Excel.
  • SAP and Ariba experience highly advantageous.
  • Experience in working within a multi-cultural environment.
  • Project Management experience.
