Job Summary

The Building Company requires a dedicated and organized Assistant Store Manager to provide comprehensive support to our store/branch manager.

Key Duties

  1. Manage day-to-day store operations and ensure adherence to company policies
  2. Maintain employee relations and address any conflicts that arise
  3. Plan and execute training programs to enhance employee skills
  4. Participate in recruitment processes and facilitate onboarding for new employees
  5. Deliver general HR support and maintain accurate employee records
  6. Manage petty cash and stationery supplies
  7. Negotiate with external suppliers
  8. Develop strong relationships with customers
  9. Optimize store vehicle performance and manage Plascon point of sale systems
  10. Address store-related concerns
  11. Support store opening and closing procedures
  12. Uphold and promote our company's values and culture

Required Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Substantial experience in a supervisory or administrative position
  • Effective management skills and knowledge of bookkeeping or administration
  • Basic computer skills
