We are looking for an experienced Desktop Assessor to join our team at Santam Insurance. As a key member of our motor claims department, you will be responsible for determining the quantum and merit of segmented motor claims.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in mechanical related studies or equivalent experience in motor assessing. You will also possess strong technical skills, policy wording interpretation, product training, and claim system training obtained through various training and courses.

Your duties will include quoting and assessing damage, deciding whether to replace/repair part/use aftermarket spares when warranty has expired, generating claims reports, and communicating outcomes with clients and intermediaries.

Responsibilities include:

  • Determine market value of vehicle for settlement (valuation)
  • Determine outstanding finance details, release settlements and documents to salvage inventory
  • Authorize for repair, cash, replace or write-off
  • Complete investigative report
