We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Advisor to join our team at Engineered Sourcing. As a Senior Technical Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing technical advisory services to our clients in the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Due Diligence: Conduct thorough technical due diligence on renewable energy projects, including assessment of construction contracts, operation and maintenance contracts, grid connection agreements, and power purchase agreements.
  • Project Management: Manage medium to large-sized projects and portfolios, coordinating with specialist teams to provide top-level technical advisory services and deliver high-quality reports.
  • Owner's and/or Lender's Engineer: Provide technical due diligence reports to support project financing or M&A decisions, and conduct construction monitoring to assess construction progress and control the quality of work.
  • Commercial Support: Provide commercial support, including awareness of market trends, participation in industry conferences, proposal management, and winning new business in the South African market.
  • Technology Scouting and Market Watch: Conduct technology scouting and market watch to identify new trends and opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior staff and provide guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required, with a Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of previous TDD experience within the renewable energy industry, preferably working for a tier-A consultancy or project developer.
  • Skills: Exceptional English language skills, with proficiency in the standard suite of modern commercial computer software.
  • Physical Abilities: Valid driver's license required, with ability to travel up to 25% of the time, domestic and international.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced, international environment with tight delivery timeframes.
  • Physical Demands: Occasional air travel, valid driver's license required, and ability to work outdoors in harsh conditions.
