Job Title: Master Trainer
Job Summary:
The Master Trainer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and conducting training workshops, as well as supporting trainees in training others and programme implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an annual training plan for approval by the COO and Grant Manager, and set measurable training targets and project outcomes for training.
- Identify training needs and conduct training needs analysis workshops where necessary.
- Monitor and evaluate training done at facilitator level, as well as community training and training partnerships.
- Provide oversight and support for AYFS trainers.
- Plan and initiate community-based programmes and workshops, and support and follow up on these programmes.
- Facilitate all programmes trainings and write training reports.
- Conduct quality assurance for all trainings.
- Provide feedback, regular reports, and financial reconciliation of training activities.
- Conduct and/or assist with training, including preparation, planning, and implementation of courses.
- Plan training projects and liaise with training partners to ensure successful training outcomes.

- Develop and maintain a database of trained facilitators and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to writing project annual and/or close-out reports.
- Conduct training for partners, as per the organisation's request from time to time.
- Provide technical support and assistance to partners to improve and/or maintain a high standard of facilitation, fidelity in delivery, and quality of program data and reporting.
Financial Management:
- In consultation with Grants Manager and aligned to the approved training plan, prepare the annual budget for all training required.
- Coordinate the receipt, checking, and submission of invoices to the Finance Unit to facilitate timely payment.
- Monitor monthly actual expenditure against budgets, identify variances, and ensure necessary follow-up action is taken.
- Manage service providers/suppliers in accordance with the terms and conditions of relevant contracts.
- Undertake spending with due regard to value for money and ensure service provider pricing is competitive.
- Prepare expenditure projections as and when required.
- Comply with all financial policies and procedures, including procurement.
Human Resources Management:
- Take ownership and accountability for all deliverables and responsibilities assigned to this role.
- In consultation with the Grants Manager, identify own training and coaching requirements to achieve optimal performance.
- Contribute to the development of a committed team with individuals who work well together and provide each other with mutual support, assistance, and cooperation.
- Comply with all HR policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- An appropriate diploma/degree in education/training.
- At least 3 years proven experience in education, training, and project management.
- Extensive experience as a trainer.
Competencies:
- Sound project management skills and understanding of project management processes and methodologies.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Communication skills in other South African languages.
- Meticulous and able to pay attention to detail.
- Able to interpret data and information to generate reports.
- Good report writing skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to multi-task and prioritise.
- Self-motivated, a self-starter, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A valid driver's license and own transport are essential.
- Ability and willingness to travel outside of Johannesburg.
- Able to use own initiative and take ownership of tasks.
- Good team player.
- Able to analyse and evaluate data and information.
- Able to generate and adapt creative ideas and solutions to improve performance.
