Position Overview:

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and operational efficiency of the organization's properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical support and ongoing maintenance for company-owned facilities.
  • Ensure that rental properties are kept in prime condition to align with market standards, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of properties and large-scale infrastructure to identify maintenance needs.
  • Prepare detailed cost assessments for maintenance activities related to properties and infrastructure.
  • Execute maintenance tasks for both properties and bulk infrastructure.
  • Oversee and manage service providers engaged in maintenance tasks, ensuring completion reports are signed off.
  • Verify that delivered goods and services correspond with issued purchase orders and acknowledge receipt.
  • Address urgent maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Assist regional offices with maintenance responsibilities as necessary.
  • Authorize and confirm receipt of goods and services within the scope of delegated authority.
  • Contribute maintenance-related data for inclusion in planning and budgeting initiatives.
  • Utilize the organization's IT systems to facilitate the procurement of maintenance-related goods and services.
  • Review and validate service provider invoices in accordance with company standards.
  • Document key decisions and directives regarding property maintenance in written form for clarity with supervisors and service providers.
  • Inform tenants about the company's property maintenance offerings.
Qualifications:
  • NQF Level 6 with minimal experience (less than 1 year) in plumbing and electrical work; OR
  • NQF Level 5 with 1-2 years of relevant experience or a Certified Skill/Trade.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
